A long-time Goshen Local Schools educator and leader will be making the move to the district’s central office team beginning with the 2026-27 school year.

Goshen High School Principal Stephanie Walker will become Director of Student Services beginning Aug. 1, following the retirement of current director Tom Turner.

Student Services is vital to district operations and serves as an umbrella department that covers special education, gifted education, English as a Second Language programming, state testing and student discipline.

Walker holds a master’s degree in educational administration from Xavier University and bachelor’s degree in special education from Eastern Kentucky University. She has served as GHS principal for the past eight years. The Student Services role returns Walker to her earliest days of work in education, where her focus was serving students with disabilities.

“This move feels incredibly full-circle for me, as it allows me to return to where my career first started: special education,” she said.

Walker shared the news of her new position with high school staff this week, and said the change was bittersweet.

“As many of you know, I have been a building principal for 21 years. While I love the daily energy of the building, I am ready for a new professional challenge,” she said. “It is hard to find the right words to capture what the last eight years at Goshen High School have meant to me. I have been so very blessed to work alongside all of you. You have filled my days with purpose, collaboration, and joy, and I am genuinely a better person for having had you in my world.”

Walker has been at GHS since 2018, and prior to that, had served as a building leader at Wilmington High School and Amelia Elementary, Middle and High Schools.

Turner, who has worked as a teacher, coach, principal and administrator over a 32-year career in education, joined Goshen in 2012 to serve as principal at Spaulding Elementary. After eight years at Spaulding, Turner began serving as Student Services director, a role which he has held for six years.

Goshen is currently conducting a search for the next principal of Goshen High School. Applications are currently being accepted on Applitrack.
