Statement Of Nondiscrimination And Civil Rights Violation Reporting Procedures

The Goshen Local School District is committed to providing equal opportunities and both an educational and work environment free from discrimination. The Board shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex (including sexual orientation and transgender identity), disability, age, religion, military status, ancestry, genetic information or any other legally protected category with regard to employment opportunities nor will the Board tolerate harassment of any kind based upon the above-referenced protected characteristics.

The Board encourages those within the District who feel aggrieved to seek assistance to rectify such problems. The Board will investigate all allegations of discrimination and/or harassment and in those cases where such a claim is substantiated, the Board will take immediate steps to end the unlawful behavior, prevent its re-occurrence, and remedy its effects. Individuals who are found to have engaged in unlawful harassment will be subject to appropriate disciplinary action.

Under board policy, an employee has an obligation to immediately report any information which indicates that a student, employee or visitor may have been subject to acts of harassment or discrimination of any type to a compliance officer. This obligation is triggered if an employee witnesses acts of harassment/discrimination, hear about harassment or discrimination from anyone, or receives a verbal or written complaint with allegations of harassment/discrimination.

Further, the Board upholds that any act of retaliation against a person who has made a report or filed a complaint alleging unlawful harassment, or who has participated as a witness in a harassment investigation is prohibited.

The Board has adopted policies and procedures in accordance with state and federal equal opportunity/affirmative action statutes and regulations for students and staff, including procedures to investigate complaints of possible violations.

Reports and Complaints of Harassing Conduct

The Board is committed to promptly and equitably resolving student and employee complaints alleging Sexual Harassment. Members of the School District community, (students and Board employees, as well as, Board members, agents, volunteers, contractors, and all other third parties) are encouraged to promptly report incidents of harassing conduct to an administrator, supervisor or other School District official so that the Board may address the conduct promptly. Any administrator, supervisor, or other District official who receives such a complaint shall promptly notify a District Title IX Coordinator. Complaints can be received in person, by mail, by telephone or by electronic mail.

Investigation and Complaint Procedure

The District has adopted a grievance procedure to provide for the prompt and equitable resolution of student and employee complaints alleging any action that would be prohibited by Title IX and its implementing regulations. This procedure describes how to report or file a complaint of sex discrimination, how to report or file a complaint of sexual harassment, and how the District will respond.

Annual Public Notice Of Career And Technical Education Opportunities

Each year, the Goshen Local School District offers career and technical education programs at Goshen High School. These programs are designed to prepare youth for a broad range of employment and training services and are offered under the guidance of certified teachers, counselors, and Great Oaks.

Goshen Local Schools career and technical education opportunities are offered without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, or disability. Several requirements encompass the Goshen Local School Districts notices.

Responsibilities: Coordinates the school’s compliance with Title IX and ensures that the school responds appropriately, effectively, and equitably to Title IX issues, including sex- and gender-based harassment and discrimination, which includes sexual misconduct and sexual harassment.

Responsibilities: Coordinates the school’s compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and ensures that the school responds appropriately, effectively, and equitably to ADA issues, includes disability harassment and discrimination.
