Two Goshen Local School staff members were recently recognized for inspiring and encouraging students at the first ever “Celebration of Excellence in Education Awards" hosted by the Clermont County Educational Service Center.

Kelsey Ryback and Brooke Creekmore were recognized for their service in supporting Warrior students at three different Goshen buildings.

Ryback has been the literacy specialist at Spaulding Elementary and Goshen Middle School for 16 years.  As her nomination stated, Ryback "exemplifies excellence in teaching through her continuous commitment to professional growth and collaboration. She conducts research, attends professional development sessions, and engages with other Literacy Coaches to stay updated on best practices and brings this knowledge back to other teachers. Her intentional approach to coaching others  has resulted in meaningful instructional changes and improved learning outcomes. "

Ryback also mentors new teachers and was instrumental in creating the middle school advisory system, which provides students with the support and resources they need to succeed.

Creekmore may not be in front of a class of students each day, but she still supports their learning and growth. As the College and Career assistant at Goshen High School, she handles large portions of the  dual credit process, helping students apply, test, and register for courses that set them up for college success. She also coordinates career exploration opportunities, connecting students with high-demand jobs through various programs and partnerships and opening doors for students beyond the classroom.

For many, Brooke is the trusted adult they rely on—the kind every student deserves to have in their corner.

More than 200 attendees were present to honor educators and school staff from Clermont County's nine public school districts, two career centers, the Clermont County Board of Developmental Disabilities, and the Clermont County Educational Service Center.

The event honored thirteen teachers overall with the Excellence in Education Award.
