Request open enrollment

Open enrollment means that a student attends Goshen Local Schools and lives outside of the district's boundaries.

Applicants for open enrollment will be considered on a case-by-case basis. The superintendent reserves the right to deny any or all requests regardless of the date of the application.

Applicants shall be considered according to the date of application on a first come first serve basis; however, students enrolled or living in the attendance area of a school building shall be given preference over applicants.

Applicants may be rejected for one or more of the following reasons, as provided by Section 3313.97 of the Ohio Revised Code:

1.  Grade level/course capacity reaches reasonably accepted limitations.

2.  If a student enrolled or living in the attendance area of a school building would have to be displaced.

3.  If a student has been suspended or expelled during the school year in which the application has been made.

4.  During the course of the school year, after consultation with the principal and attendance officer, a student may be returned to his/her home school due to poor attendance/tardiness.
