Goshen Local Schools will be on a two hour delay tomorrow, Wednesday, Jan. 28. There will be no AM preschool. The Goshen Learning Academy will open at 8AM.

Goshen Local Schools will be closed Tuesday, January 27 due to continued road and weather conditions. Goshen Learning Academy will also be closed.

Due to road closures and construction around Goshen Township, this year's Homecoming parade route has been altered. The route will now go down Linton Road to State Route 28 to Goshen Road to Goshen High School to Goshen Middle School.

Goshen Local Schools will honor long-time coach and staff member George Rise by naming the high school football field in his honor on Friday, Sept. 19. The Goshen Education Foundation recently raised more than $30,000 to create George Rise Field at Jim Brown Stadium. Rise will be honored in a pre-game ceremony prior to the start of the annual King of the Road game between the Goshen Warriors and Blanchester. Gates open at 5:15 p.m. and ceremony begins at 6:30 p.m. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:15 p.m.

The Goshen Local School District will be sponsoring its annual cookout and recognition for all Goshen Community Warriors who have served or are currently serving in the military on Friday, Sept. 5 at 5:30 p.m. Starting August 1st, please make a reservation for you and your significant other by calling 513-722-2222 and ask to speak to Kaitlyn Collier.

Goshen High School students and families are invited to learn about Ohio’s College Credit Plus (CCP) program during an informational session with the University of Cincinnati on Monday, Feb. 10 at 6 p.m. at Goshen High School. CCP allows students in grades 7-12 to earn dual high school and college credits by taking courses at no or limited cost.

Learn about Goshen Schools and have dinner on us! Our State of our Schools Showcase on Feb. 13, 2025, brings together more than 50 groups from all schools, student organizations and local businesses under one roof. Make plans to join us for a free spaghetti dinner, a booth exhibition, updates on district news and giveaways for those in attendance. Event begins at 5:30 p.m.

Due to an ongoing power outage at Spaulding Elementary, there will be NO SCHOOL for Spaulding Elementary and Marr/Cook Elementary today, Thursday, December 5. GHS and GMS will operate on a normal schedule. We appreciate your flexibility and understanding.

Goshen Local Schools will perform a test of its emergency notification system on Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 7 p.m. Families of Goshen students and staff members may receive an email, text message and call. Goshen app users should also receive a push notification.

The Goshen community is no stranger to natural disaster, and now many of our local organizations are banding together to help others who have been hit hard by Hurricane Helene. GHS Student Council and Goshen Community Cares are collecting donated items on Sunday, Oct. 6 from 1-4 p.m. at GHS. See full list of requested items on our website.

Join us as we celebrate National Night Out on Tuesday, Aug. 6. Food, info booths and more will be set up behind Marr/Cook Elementary. The event kicks off at 5:30 p.m. and weather permitting, UC Air Care will be landing at the event. Hope to see you there for an evening of fun!

Ohio's annual sales tax holiday is now 10 days long, just in time for back-to-school shopping. A provision in Ohio's budget added more tax-free days to this year’s holiday, which now runs Tuesday, July 30 to Thursday, Aug. 8. According to the Ohio Department of Taxation, the sales tax waiver will cover all tangible personal property that is $500 or less, with some exceptions. NEW FOR 24-25: ALL enrolled Goshen students are eligible to receive a healthy breakfast and lunch at school at no charge. Students will be able to participate in this meal program without having to pay a fee or submitting an application. Goshen Local School District will be able to do this through the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) of the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Program. The CEP program allows schools and districts with high poverty rates to provide free breakfast and lunch to all enrolled students. Two Goshen High School students recently won a $2,000 cash prize after pitching their idea for a workout aid during an entrepreneurial competition in Dayton. Corbin Hinkle and Max Lowry won the Project Pitch Competition for their Lift Rite idea, a solution for avoiding tweaks, sprains, pulls, tears, and breaks while working out. The contest was part of the SCORE Dayton’s first annual Miami Valley High School Pitch Competition held at Beavercreek High School.
