OSBA Recognizes Goshen Board of Education Members


Goshen Local Schools received several separate recognition's.

  • Mr John Benthien was awarded the OSBA Master Board Member Award. The Master Board Member Award, a lifetime distinction, is given to those leaders who earn 300 Award of Achievement credits over a four-year period.
  • Sue Steele was presented her 10th Award of Achievement and John Benthien his 3rd Award of Achievement. OSBA’s annual Award of Achievement program recognizes Ohio public school board members who work hard to become better board members. They earn credits toward the award by enrolling and participating in workshops and conferences, volunteering for service to their association and working on behalf of their own board.
  • The entire Goshen Board of Education was presented the Gold Award for being recognized as an Effective School Board for the 2017 school year. The Goshen Board of Education has received the Gold Award for the last 9 consecutive years. The OSBA Southwest Region Executive Committee developed this award to recognize school boards who are doing outstanding work in the region. 
  • Mr. Darrell Edwards was also recognized by OSBA Southwest Region. He received the “Friend of the Southwest” award for all his dedication to improving education in Southwest Ohio.
