Students will receive a letter grade (“A” – “F”) on his/her report card.Students will be graded on various criteria, including class participation, journal responses, in class activities, health news, tests, quizzes, and homework.

    *Health News:

Students will have a weekly assignment is to find a news article, which relates to human health. This helps students learn how to find information and be aware of current health topics that are in the news or media. It can be an article from any newspaper, magazine or the Internet. It can be about anyhealth related topic. Students must turn in this completed worksheet with the article stapled to it.This assignment is due every Thursday.

*Remember it is very important to try on each assignment! Copying from another student will result in a zero.Zeros will bring your grade down drastically! Please make sure to do your own work and turn it in on time!

    Objectives and Journals:

Each day as the students enter the classroom the daily objective and journal question will be posted on the dry erase board. This allows each student to know what will be covered that particular day in class.Students should copy the journal question and write their answer in there notebooks each day.In addition, I encourage students to write the daily objective in their notebooks as a reminder of what we are discussing in class.

    Absent Policy:

Students, you have one week to turn in any work that was missed when you were absent.Any homework, in-class assignments, quizzes, or tests completed after this time will result in a zero.

    Supplies:

Students will need the following supplies each and every day in class:

1.3 ring binder or folder (with prongs)

2.Loose leaf paper (which may be placed in their binder/folder)

3.Blue or Black pen or pencil

    4.Health News (every Thursday)

    5.Agendas !!!!!!!!!!!

I am very big on helping each student succeed! For that reason I will be requiring each student to have a binder or folder with prongs that will hold all of his or her health papers. We will walk through the process together. On the inside pocket of the folder students will keep all their graded papers. On the back pocket or your folder students will keep all of their handouts and un-graded papers. In the middle of the folder students will keep their journal, loose paper, and homework in that order.

    Back Pocket:

    Handouts and un-graded papers

    Front Pocket:

    Graded Papers

Middle of the Folder: Journals, Loose Paper, Homework (in that order)

*** Reminder: Students this is your first handout!
