My name is Kyla Benthien. I have a Bachelor's of Arts in English from Northern Kentucky University. I am currently working on my Master's degree at Xavier University. I am very excited to be teaching English 11 this year. Junior curriculum for this year includes reading, The Great Gatsby, Fahrenheit 451, To Kill A Mockingbird, and "The Night Thoreau Spent in Jail" (a play). We will also be learning more about college choices, financial aid, and ACT prep. Later this year we will be studying poetry as students create their own poetry volumes while they are introduced to a variety of poetry styles and authors.
