NHS at GHS is now collecting toys for Toys for Tots sponsored
by the Marine Corps. Donation drop boxes for unwrapped toys are
located at the high school and at the Board of Education
office. Toys are being collected now throughDecember 9th.

DESSERTS FOR SALE…..GET YOUR DELICIOUS DESSERTS…..

For the next 10 days, students in all buildings are selling delicious Market Day desserts to help fund a variety of programs and events. A letter and order forms were sent home with all students in Marr/Cook, Spaulding, and GMS.

Students at GMS and Spaulding are asked to sell 2 pies per person to help pay for HOT breakfasts again this year on each of their testing days. Students at Marr/Cook are asked to sell 2 pies per person to help pay for new Smart Boards in all classrooms. A variety of student groups at GHS are selling desserts to raise money for their groups.

October 14 is the start of the Goshen PTO - FOOD PANTRY Fridays. Please send in any non-parishable item to school with your child. The items will be collected and given to the two food pantries located in Goshen. Volunteers are needed to help with the collection and loading. Please call the Food Drive Coordinator Shawn Burke @ 923-7790 if you can help on the morning of the drive.

Class of 2013 will be having a prom fundraiser. All juniors will be selling butter braids starting November 4 - November 17. Please contact any junior if you owuld like to order. You may also contact Kelyy Royal (royalk@goshenlocalschools.org) or Beth Perrmann (perrmannb@goshenlocalschools.org) if you would like an order form or to place an order. All proceeds will go towards 2012 prom at the Music Hall downtown.

Goshen Cub Scout Annual Skating Party is Monday, November 7th at Castle Skateland. The fun begins at 6:30P. The price is $6 per person and includes skate rental and admission. This is a fundraiser for the pack, so make plans to come and bring LOTS of your friends!!! And the best part, it's NOT a school night (we are off for Election Day on Tuesday, November 8th!)

November 10 -GHS the last half hour of school the Social Studies Department is hosting a Veteran's Day Program. Any veteran from any service area is welcome to attend. The Choir and Bands will perform and we will have a guest speaker. The entire school will be in attendance.   • Assembly Honoring Invited Veterans

  • SPAULDING ELEMETARY – Thursday, November 10 @ 10:15

  • Students inviting Veterans from the community to attend program
  • Each teacher has a book of lesson plans and activities to do with their students
  • Building-wide poster contest:Theme “Our Heroes of the Past, Present and Future” (winning posters will be honored at the program) posters will also be displayed in the building
  • Students will be encouraged to express the importance of the contributions veterans have made to our country (using their own words, images and creativity)

    GOSHEN MIDDLE SCHOOL – Thursday, November 10 @ 7:30

  • Staff/Students invite Veterans (family or friends who have served) to attend
  • Veterans arrive for coffee and doughnuts
  • Panel discussion between Veterans and social study classes
  • Essay contest for all grades
  • Thank-you cards made by students sent to Georgetown Veterans home, Venetian Gardens and given to attendees
  • Presentation of appreciation certificates and lunch for Veterans

  • Assembly Honoring Veterans
  • Presentation of two (2) belated High School Diplomas

    November 14 Student Council will host a Hoxworth blood drive in the high school gym. Donors can come between the hours of 8:30 am - 7:00 pm.

    November 14 will be the Fall Sports Banquet at the High School look for the times coming soon.

    The GHS drama club students will be putting on the play Lizzie Borden on November 18 and 19 at 7pm. The cost will be $5.00 for adults and $3 for students and senior citizens. Even though the new fall season will be in full force please come out and support the high school drama club. These students and their coaches really work hard for these events.

    November 23, 24 and 25 all Goshen schools will be closed for Thanksgiving break
