Greetings Warrior Family,

The arrival of spring welcomes in many important upcoming events that we want to share with you as there are many events and opportunities for you, our community, and our students to look forward to. Here are some important upcoming events:

Sports Physicals Available at Goshen High School—For your convenience, Goshen Family Practice will be giving sports physicals at Goshen High School from 3pm-6pm on May 23rd . Forms are available online at http:// glswiki.goshenlocalschools.org/groups/district_main/wiki/0e26f/ Sports_Physicals.html. Cost is $10 and all of the money is donated to the Athletic Department. This physical will be good for all sports next year.

Senior Citizens Dinner will be May 8th from 5pm-8pm at Spaulding Elementary School . The theme is “Then and Now”. Reservations can be made for any Senior Citizen that is part of the Warrior Family by calling 722-2222. Bring a picture in by the end of April to our Board Office and we will include it in the video that will be shown that night. The dinner is FREE and is sponsored by MPG Catering/Heritage Hall (the Pappas and Swift Family) and the Community and Staff Public Relations Committee.

The 114th Annual Goshen Alumni Banquet and Academic and Athletic Hall of Fame inductions will be held on May 12, 2012 beginning at 6:30pm at Goshen High School. Friendship Hour begins at 4:00pm. Dinner cost is $12.50. For ticket information, call Mrs. Meadors at 722-2223. If you are interested in making a Hall of Fame nomination for next year or simply want more information on the Alumni Association, you may do so at http:// www.goshenalumni.com/. This year’s inductees are Phil Fant Class of 1989, John Libbee GHS Teacher from 1959-1999, and former teacher and community supporter Lloyd Heisler. Kindergarten Registration will be held April 17th from 5-7 and May 9th from 2pm-7pm. Registration is by appointment only. Pre-registration insures that you will know your child’s teacher before school starts. Appointments will take approximately twenty minutes and every child will receive a kindergarten readiness assessment at registration. For more information, call 722-2223.

Fine Arts Night and Outdoor Concert is May 17th from 6pm-8pm.

The Ohio Achievement Assessments for grades 3-8 are April 23rd-May 4th. Look for important information on your child’s testing to arrive from school.

The Goshen Middle School Track Invitational is April 24th and the Goshen High School Track Invitational is April 27th. Come out and watch our athletes in action!

Severe Weather and School Closing Information
When there is the possibility of snow, sleet, or other inclement weather, the Goshen Local School District takes several steps to monitor the situation. Travel conditions are checked in the district starting at 4:30 A.M. In order to allow sufficient time for the media to broadcast our messages, we must reach a decision and notify them by 5:45 A.M. This usually ensures that the message will be broadcast by 6:15 A.M.

For your convenience, the district uses the Leader Alert System to notify parents and staff by telephone of inclement weather conditions. You may also listen to the following news or radio stations for all school closings:
