    2011 OSBA Business Honor Roll

The Goshen Board of Education recognized many local businesses at halftime of the Boys Varsity Basketball game on Friday, January 20th. The following businesses and organizations were on hand to be thanked for their continued support of the district’s schools; Alpha Omega, BP of Goshen, Becks Hardware, Domino’s Pizza, Eastgate Bowling Lanes, MPG Catering/Heritage Hall (The Pappas Family), Goshen Chamber of Commerce, Goshen Gardens, Goshen Police and Fire Departments, Goshen Horse Thief Detectives, Goshen United Methodist Church, Ken Klosterman, Petermann Transportation, Skyline Chili, and Tri State Juice. The night started with a reception from 6:00-7:30, where they were treated to food and then they gathered in the gym to cheer for the Warrior basketball team vs. New Richmond.

They were then honored as part of the Ohio School Boards Association’s (OSBA) 2011 Business Honor Roll program at halftime. The program, in its first year, gives Goshen Local Schools a way to say “thanks” to local businesses and recognize them for their valuable contributions to the schools. The Ohio School Board Association provided personalized certificates that were presented during the ceremony.

“Our local business community has always been strong supporters of our schools,” said Sue Steele, Board President. “Whether it is providing a High School student a job or rallying to help support a district cause, our business community is always there to help.”

Darrell Edwards, Superintendent said, “Goshen Local School District and its students, board members, administrators and staff would like to express their sincere appreciation for all that they do for the children of our community. Public schools and local businesses are an integral part of the Goshen community and many local businesses play a crucial role in supporting our schools. These businesses provide mentoring for our students, financial support, fundraising opportunities, support our Senior Citizen efforts and Dinner, and serve on advisory committees.”
